Top 10 best beach resorts in Phuket; with so many excellent beaches
and resorts in Phuket this was never going to be easy, the debate has been furious.
Whilst we don't have an exact formula many different factors have been taken into
account such as the quality of the sand on the beaches, the intimacy of the beaches,
the facilities and uniqueness of the hotel, the clarity and colour of the sea
and snorkelling and watersports potential amongst others. Whichever way you look
at it there are some fantastic resorts in our list. A stay at any of them will
be a pleasure. |

Stunning Relax Bay, where Le Meridien is located, is one of Phuket's finest beaches. As access is only available from the sea or through the resort itself, Le Meridien has a genuine private feel to it and the fine sand and clear water, good snorkelling and water sports are all the more exclusive for it.
The verdant jungle-covered hills are a fine backdrop and Le Meridien certainly made the right choice in building their hotel here. And what a hotel! It boasts huge pools and excellent facilities and its compact size makes it all that easier for the hotel to keep the beach clean. Le Meridien takes a well-deserved first place in our list.

Katathani Phuket
Beach Resort rates second on our best beach resort list for its wonderful setting
on Kata Noi Beach - a white-sand
paradise with unique qualities that edge out other contenders for the top of our
list. Year round, this resort has the best of both worlds; the smooth-as-glass
sea from November to May and an unforgettable seascape the rest of the year. Kata
Noi Beach is away from the crowds so there you will be able to make full use of
the 850-metre long strand and revel in the hotel's many facilities, which include
six swimming pools, three Jacuzzis, a fantastic spa, no less than six restaurants,
tennis courts, cooking classes and much, much more. |

Andaman White
Beach Resort: the name says it all. The beach in question is Nai
Thorn Beach, located in the quieter north of Phuket, away from all the
noise and well, tourists. Expect crystal clear azure blue sea and fine pure white
sand, this beach is usually deserted apart from resort guests as access is only
through the resort or by sea.
The 54 room resort is a self-contained beach-lover's
paradise but it doesn't stop there: you can avail yourself of the resort's spa,
go scuba diving, work out at the gym or simply soak up the rays on this beautiful
beach then pamper yourself at one of the four restaurants. This area is isolated
and rugged and a far cry from crowded Patong. Carpe diem in the best way possible;
by chilling out at Andaman White Beach Resort. |

The
Marriott lies on 11km of untouched beachfront, Phuket's longest. Mai
Khao Beach is a protected area so it's really a 'you-and-the-beach' holiday
here. Having said that, the Marriott has excellent facilities and the level of
staff training is admirable so in-house attractions are at premium. Many guests
comment positively on the resort's swimming pools as well as the opulent feel
to the grounds and architectural design. La Cucina, the Italian restaurant at
Marriott, has won awards for its cuisine and Marriott provides an extensive breakfast
buffet. An added attraction is that the Marriott is located only 15 minutes from
the airport - thus maximizing your vacation time. |

SALA
Phuket is also situated on lengthy and wild Mai
Khao Beach and the pool villa resort uses its beachfront location to the
max. Beautiful pine-like causarina trees provide shade and if the sea is too rough
you can utilize the resort's large beachside swimming pools and, of course, your
own villa's pool. Sala Phuket's villas do not provide sea views but they do guarantee
absolute privacy in great style. Take a trek along the brown-sand beach and discover
true tranquility or if you're not feeling energetic grab some sundowners at the
resort's excellent beach bar and watch that golden globe sink into the Andaman
Sea. |

Scenic, shady and not as full-on frenetic as Patong, Kata Beach has got that perfect and much-sought-after balance between modern facilities and old-fashioned beauty. Kata is a resort town but has none of the shenanigans found elsewhere on the island. Kata Beach Resort has the best location here and the large pool area overlooks the beach so it's no wonder that the 267 room resort figures prominently in our Top 10 list of beach resorts in Phuket. The resort offers many dining options; a free sauna, a fitness centre and even a barber. You're virtually on the beach even if you choose to sunbathe by the pool and in this way you get the best of both worlds; beach life – with all the comforts of a luxurious resort at your fingertips. |
