Phuket and the surrounding area rank among the top 10 scuba-diving

varieties of marine life, plus a chance of swimming with whale sharks
and manta rays. Come and see for yourself!

Phuket is the base for sailing the Andaman Sea; and there are few
places on Earth which compare to the Andaman Sea when it comes to
yachting. Through the long northeast monsoon season, weather conditions
are the equal of any area in the world, better, for example, than
those in the Mediterranean.
The annual Phuket King's Cup Regatta brings hundreds of the world's
keenest ocean sailors to enjoy spectacular racing. Even in
the south-west monsoon season there are calm, protected waters in
fascinating Phang Nga Bay. There are many charter sailing boats available and some
even offer "join-in" day trips for two or more people.

The hong, or "rooms", of Phang Nga Bay and Krabi
are collapsed cave systems open to the sky, filled with jungle flora
and fauna, and often accessible only in tough, purpose-designed
inflatable canoes through sea-caves at low tide. Local operators
have so far gained access to dozens of hongs between Phang Nga and
Krabi to the south. (read more...)

The deep blue, clear waters of the Andaman Sea are ideal for gamefish,
and the region is on the migratory paths of classic fighting fish
such as marlin. At certain times of the year, the sailfish fishing
compares with anywhere in the world; and this is one of the top
three queenfish venues.
Game fishing boats, Andaman Hooker and Dorado offer some thrilling
trips. Both Aloha tours and Blue Water Anglers offer several vessels
for catching sails and other game-fish either on a complete charter
or join-in angler basis. (read more...)
